Gail Robertson’s bio

Gail is a certified yoga instructor in Still Point and Ashtanga Yoga. She has been practising yoga in many ways for almost 30 years, and teaching for nearly two decades in Canada and Australia. Her experiences as a yoga practitioner and a high school teacher have inspired her to create classes that are focused on the understanding that students come to the mat with a range of needs.

She believes in providing options and personal modifications to suit the diversity of students; motivating and encouraging them to work at their own pace to assist them to discover what this ancient discipline has to offer.

Gail has been inspired by many teachers. Guidance and encouragement from her Sivananda certified instructor, Glenn Mifsud of Still Point in Canada, led her to complete her first teacher training in 1998. The teachings of Sri Pattabhi Jois and teacher training with David Swenson in 2000 influenced her to practice and teach the traditional sequence of the Ashtanga Primary Series to instil strength, stamina, flexibility and grace.

Gail was a Yoga Studio and Yoga Sanctuary (Canada) staff teacher from 1998 to 2001 and was a guest on Breakfast Television & Women’s Television Network (Canada) providing demonstrations and commentary in 1998, 2000 and 2001. She operated ‘Yoga Flows’ weekly classes at Mahamudra House in Lyneham from 2002 to 2012 and at Yoga Flows in Torrens from 2014 to 2015. Since 2010, Gail has been offering yoga retreats through ‘Simplicity Retreats’.
