“I’ve been doing 3 classes a week after going through the beginners course August 2017. CYS has the best variety of teachers & yoga styles anywhere – I was recently staying in Gungahlin for a month & looked to see what studios were out there.. I ended up driving across town multiple times a week to get to classes at CYS. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere like it. I’m so glad I did the beginners course with CYS, not only because it was a fantastic intro to various styles & teachers who are passionate and know their stuff, but also because I lucked into finding what I consider the best studio in Canberra. And there is a beautiful spirit about the place too. I’ll keep coming there as long as I’m in Canberra 🙂
I do regular classes with Jackie – her depth of knowledge about Iyengar & her evident passion make her an effective guru. Her attention to detail & support to adjust & understand my body has been extremely useful.
With Jon – starting with the intensive back in January, his drive to engage us with the energy potential in our bodies & breath is a great motivator. His classes are more physically intense – at times very difficult, but the rewards are magnificent.
With Elena – her knowledge of anatomy & care to teach us to practice safely in order to gain healing effects with Hatha flow is incredible, I’ve gained so much knowledge about my physical needs. She also teaches fantastic breathing techniques which I’ve found useful on & off the mat.
With Nicky – her restorative class changed my life in many ways. Some of the poetic things she would say while my body was gently slowly stretching were just magic.
I’ll be doing the Sunday afternoon with Katie, her class last week was also fantastic. I’m really glad she’s there now. I’ve practiced occasionally with other teachers & always find them to be open & generous with their knowledge. Namaste, I’m so grateful for this in my life.”

“I’ve been really enjoying attending the Saturday morning prenatal course and have found it to have the right type of pace with a good mix of stretching, strengthening work and relaxation. My muscles are quite stiff by the end of the working week, but I leave each class feeling really refreshed and well stretched out. Angela Baker and Pippa Matthews in particular have been especially wonderful to me, incredibly caring and supportive. We usually have a little chat before or after class and they have helped me a lot especially over the past few difficult weeks. I always look forward to coming to classes and being in their presence. I was able to catch up with Angela today but I didn’t get a chance to thank Pippa properly. Could you please pass on my thanks for her care and support especially recently? I love her style of teaching yoga, but it is her genuine interest and care for people that makes her and her classes really special. The same goes for Angela. Her light and energy are amazing. Angela invited me to meet her at her work today, she made lunch for us and we sat outside to chat. She is so generous in sharing her light and I really appreciate the connection we have made. I feel like I can learn a lot from all of your teachers, especially Angela and Pippa.

“I’ve been attending classes at Canberra Yoga Space over the last 6 weeks and now that I am heading back to New Zealand I just wanted to thank you for the services that the studio provides and share some positive feedback. I came to Canberra Yoga Space after a period of physical and emotional trauma and started taking classes in the hope that it would help with my recovery. My teachers Eli Haski and Liz Allen were so kind, always greeted me and took the time to get to know me. I felt very cared for and with their encouragement I started to see my physical strength growing much faster than I had anticipated, and with it my self confidence and emotional strength returning too. I feel so fortunate to have found Canberra Yoga Space and I only feel sad that I cannot take to the studio and teachers back to Auckland with me.
