Becoming a child with children
sharing the wonder sharing imagination
being a child makes you complete.
Join us on a journey through the forest, to sea and beyond. What creatures will we discover? Who will you be? What magic can we share?
Our kids yoga holiday classes with Niki De Domenico, offer a safe, non-competitive space for children to have fun, foster self-awareness and creativity while calming the mind and moving the body in a healthy way.
Through games and songs, our classes move through warm-ups to various yoga poses before a moment of rest to explore a visualisation. After yoga we create art about our yoga experience, for example, if we meet a fairy in the forest we make a felt fairy to take home (to remember our journey!).
‘Yoga is a movement of peace. I like doing yoga and you can do any animal you like at the end.’ – Sol, age 5
‘My favourite is being a mermaid in the sea. You have to be quiet, and I feel my heart.’ – Eva, age 3
Ages 2 to 6

Can I attend with my child?
Parents are welcome to participate in the session. Parents are welcome to either sit at the back of the room if you feel like allowing your child space to explore on their own, or you can join in and participate. If you feel your child is comfortable and mature enough to be dropped off, that is fine as well. The child will probably need to be atleast 4 yeas of age if you are considering dropping him/her off. Please note, when picking up your child at the end of the session – kindly remain outside the room on arrival as the finishing practise may be quiet relaxation and keeping the space quiet supports your child to get the most out of the session.
My child has mobility restrictions or complex needs. Is this appropriate for him/ her?
Please advise us of your child’s full name and specific requirements (including any injuries, mobility or health issues) via our contact form.
What does my child need to bring?
We recommend comfortable clothing. Practise is done bare-foot. There is a small locker room towards the rear of the room where your child can store his/ her personal items. A bottle of water for after the session is recommended.
Are classes linked or progressive as a series?
You can drop in to any or all of the sessions appropriate for your child’s age. Each class has it’s own unique theme, each with a different art project and they don’t build on the last session.
Reconnect with the body’ natural reservoir to renew itself. This restorative yoga course allows you to experience the deeper and more fundamental aspects of mindfulness and yoga practise. Allowing you space to pause and pave an opportunity to come home to one’s self. Each session proposes a PAUSE in a predominantly routine-based over-stimulated reality. The opportunity to catch-up with yourself and restore your sense of self, balance and equilibrium to a more optimal level.
This practise is accessible to all levels of ability – Ideal for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Please let Monica know if you are pregnant, as modifications will need to be introduced for some poses.
While a Restorative Yoga practice is ideal for times when we feel depleted or recovering from illness, reserving one restorative practice a week is essential to re-establish self-awareness, and build up stores of energy in you that can prevent conditions of DEPLETION, and pave the way towards SUSTAINABLE HEALTH.
This practise introduces a responsive practise, incorporating elements of both Yang (a more active practise), and introducing your energy and body to a predominantly restorative practise (Yin). This allows you to experience a sense of balance – providing you tools you can use for yourself in order to be responsive to your ever changing needs – the opportunity to warm up, build internal heat, and clear energy pathways (Yang) when you feel dormant or deflated, complemented by the experience of a more receptive or restful practise that allows the body to gain energy (and tap into the body’s natural capacity to renew itself) without using energy (Yin).
The next 6-week restorative yoga course is open for enrolments and starts on Wednesday 24 May and runs till 28 June 2017.

We are excited to offer a new Iyengar Yoga 6-week course starting from Wednesday 12 April taught by our Iynegar yoga teacher, Jacqui Simmonds. Jacqui is a Certified Iyengar yoga teacher.
To those unfamiliar with it, Iyengar is a form of Hatha Yoga named after and developed by B.K.S Iyengar – a yoga spiritualist and guru, considered one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world. Based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga and the teachings of Patanjalis’ classical Yoga Sutra, Iyengar emphasises postural detail, precision and alignment.
Unlike other Hatha styles which take a more experiential approach to the asanas, encouraging you to follow the teacher and find your way into your comfortable seat, Iyengar by contrast is much more focused on getting the physical alignment right for your body — with any errors or misalignments actively corrected.
Another feature of Iyengar is that the poses are typically held for longer. Instead of moving swiftly from one to the next as you would in vinyasa, Iyengar requires you to maintain a pose long enough to understand and refine it. In addition, props such as belts, blocks and blankets are used to assist with enhancing alignment, customising to your anatomy, and minimising injury and strain.
This is style of yoga which can really assist your wider practice – it complements vinyasa hatha yoga.
When: Wednesday 12 April to 17 May 2017
Times: Wednesdays 7:45-9pm
Cost: $99 for 6 weeks
